Every gemstone has a story — not just of where it was found, but of how it was brought to life. At Liyanage Lapidary, we take pride in our craftsmanship, where raw stones are patiently transformed into breathtaking pieces of brilliance.
Recently, one such journey unfolded with a natural 4.30 ct facet-grade unheated Ceylon Blue Sapphire rough sourced from Rakwana village mining areas in Sri Lanka. At first glance, the rough stone revealed a small feather inclusion on the left corner, but on both sides, it shimmered with promise — containing two distinct gems: one in vivid royal blue and the other in medium blue.
Our cutter Janaka began with preforming and shaping, guided by Mr. Liyanage’s expert planning and artistic direction. With precision and skill, the stone was divided and crafted into two separate treasures, each revealing its unique identity.

Every cut is intentional, every polish is purposeful. And in the end, what once was hidden becomes unforgettable.
